Day by Day
Day 1, Campo Grande / Bonito
Our team will meet travelers at Campo Grande Airport (CGR) by arrival. Briefing on the journey and route before taking SUV rented vehicle to start the trip to Bonito (290km, 03h30min drive). Check-in at your hotel. Afternoon and evening at leisure.
Day 2, Bonito (Recanto Ecológico Rio da Prata & Buraco das Araras)
Meet your English-speaking guide at your hotel and drive to Recanto Ecológico Rio da Prata, elected several times as the number 1 attraction in Bonito. The tour starts with a walk through the riverine forest until the Olho d’Água River Spring, a huge natural pool of crystal-clear waters from where travelers will start snorkeling downstream for around 2km at this magical natural aquarium packed with fishes and colorful aquatic plants. Tour ends with a delicious lunch at the main facilities. Afternoon drive to Buraco das Araras (Macaws’ Sinkhole), a natural crater with 124 meters deep and 500 meters diameter carved at the brazilian Cerrado where a large group of Red-and-Green Macaws nests and live. Travelers will be able to observe the great activity of those amazing birds and several other species. Return do hotel. Eveining at leisure.
Day 03, Bonito (Blue Lagoon Cave & Estância Mimosa)
Meet you English-speaking guide at your hotel after breakfast and drive to the number one post card of Bonito – the Blue Lagoon Cave. The tour starts with a walk of 300 meters until the cave entrance and continues through rough stairs down to the edge of the astonishing electric blue water lagoon at the bottom. What an amazing view! The beauty of the lagoon and geological formations of the cave are worthwhile. Proceed directly to Estância Mimosa, a beautiful spot on the margins of Rio Mimoso replete with pristine nature and several waterfalls. Delicious lunch will be served by arrival. Tour by afternoon, a pleasant walk birding through the gallery forests getting to several spots where travelers can swim and relax in marvelous waterfalls, cascades and natural pools. Return to Bonito, evening at leisure.
Day 04, Bonito (Boca da Onça Ecotour)
Meet you English-speaking guide at your hotel after breakfast and drive to Boca da Onça Ecotour, an ecological paradise fulfilled by natural attractions. A four-kilometer path along preserved woodland takes travelers through ten waterfalls and several natural pools, where it is possible to swim, relax and watch splendid birds and the pristine vegetation. The trail ends at Boca da Onça Waterfall, the highest of Mato Grosso do Sul State (156mt) and highlight of the tour, truly spectacular! After the tour return to the visitors center, where travelers will have a delicious lunch and will be able to enjoy the facilities as the natural swimming pool (with water coming from the river/stream) and resting areas with fantastic views/sceneries of Maracaju Sierra Mountains and beautiful landscapes. Return to hotel, evening at leisure.
Day 5, Bonito / Campo Grande
Depart after breakfast back to Campo Grande (3h30min drive). End of Bonito Self-Drive 4Nights/5Days trip.
